You can fly nonstop to Barbados from Atlanta, Miami, or New York. Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) is in Christ Church Parish, on the south coast; the airport is about 15 minutes from hotels situated along the south coast, 45 minutes from the west coast, and 30 minutes from Bridgetown

Ground transportation is available immediately outside the customs area. Airport taxis aren’t metered, but fares are regulated ($38–$40 to Speightstown, $30–$35 to west-coast hotels, $16–$22 to south-coast hotels). Be sure, however, to establish the fare before getting into the taxi, and confirm whether the price quoted is in U.S. or Barbadian dollars. If you are staying in an isolated area, you may want to rent a car, but bus service is good, especially between Bridgetown and stops along the west and south coasts. Taxis, of course, are always an option

Barbados weather is generally warm and sunny all year round with an average daytime high of 30°C / 86°F. In fact, Barbados has over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year!

Constant sea breezes cool Barbados’s balmy, tropical climate but the island is still sunnier and drier than the other islands. During the so-called wet season (July to November), some brief rain showers are likely. Average sunshine hours per day are eight to 10 from November to March and eight to nine from April to October. Tropical storms and hurricanes may occur between June and November.
