Eden Rock-St Barth’s

As the first hotel to open on St. Barts, Eden Rock has been welcoming sun-seeking vacationers for more than 60 years. Each accommodation is unique, with simple neutral tones and private terraces, and guests describe a stay here as worth every penny. But even with all these luxe amenities, guests agree that Le Sereno doesn’t feel pretentious, saying that they were greeted by hospitable staff members (honeymooners even received a complimentary bottle of Champagne upon arrival). Le Toigny

Hotel Le Toiny, with its 15 luxury villa suites, first opened in 1992 and underwent a multi-million renovation in 2015. Hotel Le Toiny is located in an area on the island that is still undeveloped, thus the landscape around the hotel is perfectly preserved with an abundance of lush natural vegetation. Le Toiny’s 15 villa suites are comprised of 13 one-bedroom villa suites; one junior suite, and La Villa, a three-bedroom villa that includes a master suite and two bungalows. All accommodations offer breathtaking ocean views with a private heated pool. All villas have been updated to a chic color palette of sandy beige, bright white, warm brown and driftwood gray, reminiscent of St Barths’ iconic beaches. Bleached wood-inspired floors, fine Belgian linens, textured accessories, and handmade furnishings finish the comfortable spaces. Hotel Le Toiny provides light and breezy interiors, which are stylish yet unfussy, maximum sea views, and the privacy and seclusion sought after in luxury hotel accommodations.

The renovations updated the property’s 15 accommodations and pubic spaces to a clean coastal chic aesthetic. The 2015 renovation program included a complete refurbishment of all the public spaces, including the restaurant and reception with the addition of a cozy, chic library, open-air oyster shell bar, and a relaxing champagne seating area. The hotel’s secluded beach has been refurbished and landscaped and features a coconut grove, tamarind field, and pineapple orchard, offering full beach service to hotel guests and non-guests alike, with a small bar and beach loungers in the shade of the paillottes. The beach is accessible by hotel shuttle. There’s also been the addition of the Toiny Beach Club and guests of Hotel Le Toiny have access to the hotel’s Serenity Spa Cottage and fitness center.

After 6 months of major renovation, completed in November 2013, the hotel now features 22 guest rooms and suites with one to four bedrooms. Confort hotels and Villas in St Barth

Baie des Anges

The 10 airy white-on-white rooms overlook Flamands Bay. St. Bart’s is all about the people-watching, and there’s plenty of it here: the property shares its sands with the tony Hotel St.-Barth Isle de France. Do yourself a favor and try the Creole cod fritters or the grilled spiny lobster at La Langouste, the hotel’s casual restaurant, with one of the best-priced menus on the island.

Carl Gustaf

French entrepreneur Jacques Laurent built the 14-room Hotel Carl Gustaf in 1991 after he had been vacationing with his family on St. Bart’s for years, which means that he knew the perfect spot for his idyllic island hideaway. Unlike most of the island’s top-tier properties, The Carl (as those in the know call it) isn’t right on the beach. Instead it occupies a spot on a steep hillside in the town of Gustavia, overlooking the main yacht-filled harbor. Each guest room has a private terrace with a plunge pool and panoramic ocean views, plus hand-carved beds and marble-tiled showers. The property has become known not just as a chic tropical retreat with a certain je ne sais quoi, but as one of the best places for sunset drinks on the entire isle. Try the signature cocktail: cognac, strawberry juice, and Champagne.

Les Mouettes

Situated directly on Lorient Beach, this relatively affordable hotel makes up for its modest design with a prime location on the water. Just yards from the crashing waves, the seven air-conditioned bungalows are decorated with white gingerbread trim, red iron roofs, and outdoor patios with barbecue grills. The blue-and-white interiors are basic but comfortable, with tiled floors, wooden furniture, seashell-patterned fabrics, and small kitchenettes. The Jojo supermarket is just down the street, and the bungalows are right across from La Petite Colombe, a popular French bakery serving almond croissants, chocolate éclairs, and fresh cappuccino.

La Banane

It comes as no surprise that this French West Indies island, with its white-sand beaches, over-the-top villas, and celebrity devotees, should be home to one of the Caribbean’s most stylishly revamped hotels. Once owned by the late cabaret impresario Jean-Marie Rivière, La Banane was long known for its campy vibe (showgirls and drag queens provided nightly entertainment). Then, two years ago, dynamic new French owner Jean-Marc Israel and manager Benjamin Fabbri set about creating a Midcentury Modern–inspired hideaway. A two-tiered pool gives way to nine white bungalows with pastel-colored walls, custom-designed geometric tiles, and furniture made by Swiss-born architect Pierre Jeanneret for his cousin Le Corbusier. As if the design weren’t enough reason to stay, La Banane’s ace in the hole is the lively Chandi’ Bar, where crowds gather on Thursday evenings to dance to live flamenco music.

Normandie

If you’re looking for a deal that doesn’t sacrifice style, check in to this eight-suite property. Inspired by the luxury liner Normandie, the look is old-world nautical chic: wood and metal furniture; portholed doors; leather lounge chairs in the bar. If Lorient Beach were not a two-minute walk away, you might never leave the confines of the wooden deck surrounding the pool.

Salines garden Cottages

The affordable hotel’s five simple rooms, near the Anse de Grand Salines, are built around a small plunge pool and named after destinations around the globe (Waikiki, Cap Ferret), with décor to match.

Villa Au Soleil

The very model of a hedonistic St. Bart’s retreat, this four-bedroom villa overlooking St. Jean Baie is over-the-top luxurious. The property is an Eden of tropical gardens with a fountain, a bi-level infinity pool, and a grand pavilion (known locally as an ajoupa) for gazing over all of it. Inside, the gleaming gourmet kitchen comes with an in-house chef; the common areas have vaulted ceilings and terracotta floors, and the bedrooms all have carved wood queen- or king-size beds. More sybaritic pleasures⤔namely, the beach and swanky shops⤔are just a five-minute drive away.
