Built in the 1600’s, the Museo de las Casas Reales was not just the governments’ executive offices for the Dominican Republic, but all Spanish colonies in the Caribbean region. Many of the events that shaped the New World were discussed in this building.
Another interesting landmark worth visiting is Santo Domingo Colonial District . It is located in Zona Colonial, in central Dominican Republic. The Colonial Zone is known as the “City of Firsts” and as tourists explore the area will encounter the first hospital, customs house, cathedral, university, monastery, and more in the new world. There are 300 different monuments, homes, streets, and churches here that bring a piece of history to the present day.
